Annan Distillery, Northfield, Annan
Traditionally run whiskey distillery in a beautifully restored building. Visit for whiskey
tours and tastings or stop by for tea and delicious homemade cake at The Maltings

Excellent locally-run museum commemorates the HM Factory Gretna (the largest,
female-staffed munitions factory in the world during WWI).

Hoddom Castle & Coach House
Wander around the ancient parklands of this historic castle, visit the adventure

Lovely walks on your doorstep:


The Solway Coast is just a ½ mile from Moorside Farm. To reach the coast, follow
the track path back towards the main road, taking a left turn at the first main corner
(two farm houses on the left). From there, follow the track all the easy down to the
coast (wellies advised!). From here you can complete a circular walk, bringing you
through the village of Dornock.

Family-friendly things to do and see
Mabie Farm Park (40 minute’s drive)
A great farm park set in the countryside with animal paddocks, barns and fields and
plenty of farm animals to pet and feed. There’s also lots of outdoor activities – slides,
bouncy castle, boating pond, play park and slides and an indoor area should it
happen to rain with a play barn and pet’s corner.

Dalscone Farm Fun (25-30 minute’s drive)
Another farm park that our little girls love, with both indoor areas (soft play, ride on
tractors, go-carts etc) and the opportunity for plenty of outdoor fun – gaint slides,
bouncy castle, sandpit, bumper boats, as well as lots of animals to pet and feed –
donkeys, goats, meerkats and tortoise included!

Walby Farm Park (25 minutes drive)
Excellent farm park and activity center with lots to do. Indoors there’s a soft play area
and undercover wooden castle play park with climbing walls and ropes, slides,
tunnels, as well as a covered petting/feeding barn. Outdoors there’s masses going
on: playpark, adventure playground, animal paddocks, train, tractor and mini Land
Rover rides, JCB ‘Dig & Play’ area and more.

Dino Park at Hetland Garden Centre (20 minutes drive)
A nice nearby garden centre with farm shop and café, soft play area and outdoor
Dino Park, where little ones can dig for dinosaur bones, walk alone the dino mine
and spot the T-Rexs and stegosaurus lurking in the trees.

The Cocobean Chocolate Company (1 hours drive away)
A great option for little chocolate lovers! This place runs chocolate workshops and
tasting for children and adults and has a really good outdoor play area with pirate
ships, maze, slides and swings and an indoor soft play area.
